« L’Océan », the new stereo innovating system, invitation to unlimited musical cruises.

Cabasse announces the launch of its very first full digital SCS system: L’Océan, result of a close Cabasse/Canon collaboration in research and development.

Cabasse reveals its last innovative product that complements the Artis range: L’Océan. This system that includes two exceptionally designed loudspeakers will please music and sound lovers with it are performance beyond expectations and its idiosyncratic elegance.

L'Océan System

The L’Océan 4-way speakers have built-in a new 30 cm woofer with a honeycomb dome diaphragm combined with the TC23, the 3-way coaxial unit of the reference system La Sphère. 4 digital amplifiers from 250 watts to 1000 watts are integrated in the base. They contribute in providing a high 117 dB sound pressure level with no distortion. The electronic unit of both loudspeakers is connected to the CRCS controller with SPDIF digital links.

The audio signal is carried full digital from the source to the amplifiers in the speakers. The controller includes a preamplifier section with 96 kHz digital inputs and analog inputs. Analog signals are digitalized before processing and transfer to the speakers.

Each loudspeaker is fitted with a phase linear digital filter. It optimizes the frequency response thanks to precise and variable cross-over slopes (up to 94 dB per octave) and an accurate time alignment allowing to create a true point source system.

Cabasse added the CRCS (Cabasse Room Compensation System) hardware and software to the L’Océan system, for easy automatic adaptation to the acoustics of the room through parametric modules. For natural and minimum corrections, the software takes into account psych-acoustic parameters and the specific characteristics of the speakers involved.

By joining the acoustical mastery of Cabasse, the competence in electronics and industrial know-how of Canon and their complementary expertise in digital signal processing, Cabasse can propose for the first time a fully digital intelligent system. A masterpiece, another milestone in our strategy for excellence.

About Cabasse

Founded by Georges Cabasse in 1950, the company was one of the pioneers of high fidelity music reproduction. The origins date back well before that in 1740 as a first Cabasse violin was developed. Five generations of luthiers have followed, continuing the tradition and supplying the European market with violins and cellos, most of whom are still playing in orchestras today. Cabasse has always been committed to search for perfect reproduction of music and sounds without any alteration, coloration or distortion. This research has prompted the company to constantly innovate, develop and manufacture materials always more powerful to offer music lovers the essence and thrill of sonic purity.
